The pawfect apartment!

For those of you who absolutely LOVE their fur babies, where you live matters!! Nowadays, many of us are working from home which allows lots of time to be spent with our favorite family members!! When you live in an apartment it is SUPER important to have enough space, especially if you are going to be the mom of a very spunky puppy.

I currently live in a large 2-bedroom apartment at Drayton Mills and my puppy loves it as much as I do! He has plenty of space to run around and he also loves the big, beautiful windows. The windows are not only a great way to have TONS of natural light but they are so easily accessible that they allow my dog to stay busy for a while every day. He gets himself really close to the glass so he can see his friends (and leave nose prints all over the window!)

When it is time for a walk, it is never daunting because the beauty surrounding the apartment buildings makes for an amazing way to start the day. The grounds are impeccable but that is not all! There is a large dog park for him to stop by and play with friends. Once we are done there, we continue on through the grounds. I am not sure about your dog, but mine has to sniff EVERY blade of grass! Thank goodness for all of the time that has been spent in making the property so stunning. It makes our walk to the pond, that much better! One of my favorite stops is the pond because the bright colored fish and turtles are always happy to see us! 😊

After our nice long walk, it is time to get down to business! We stop by Bella Latte for the BEST iced coffee. My furry assistant and I are now ready to start another GREAT day!!

Drayton Mills Recognized With Preservation Excellence Award

“Drayton Mills and TMS Development were recognized for their work in preservation Friday, receiving the 2018 Honor Award at a ceremony with S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster, the S.C. Department of Archives and History, and Preservation South Carolina.

McMaster presented the award to Tara Sherbert, managing principal of TMS Development. Preservation South Carolina Executive Director Mike Bedenbaugh said Drayton Mills was selected for the award due to the scope of the project and the respect paid to the story of the mill during rehabilitation.

“Five years ago, TMS Development saw the tremendous potential this former mill had to breathe new life into a community that had largely stagnated since its closure nearly two decades earlier,” Sherbert said. “Our team went to extraordinary lengths to treat these buildings with respect because they remain a cherished piece of history for many in the community. We are proud to accept this preservation honor on behalf of Drayton Mills.”

TMS Development’s work at Drayton Mills included converting two of the mills buildings into 289 luxury apartments and the former mill warehouses into mixed-use commercial space. The restoration and repurposing of the mill, constructed between 1902 and 1950, is the largest historic restoration project in South Carolina to date.

Renovated Textile Mills Getting New Life Countywide

Dating back to 1902, Drayton Mills was home to a full mill complex – spinning mill, cotton warehouse, two-story weaving building, water towers, and a company store.

The first phase of Drayton’s $35 million rejuvenation – Drayton Mills Lofts – was finished in 2015, with 289 luxury lofts and more. The second step – the 60,000-square-foot Drayton Mills Marketplace – is now home to 15 tenants including Holliday Brewing, Dray’s Bar & Grill, Bella Latte, Pi-Squared Pizza and more.

Eighteen Hundred Drayton Catering & Events, with 34,800 square feet of indoor and outdoor event and catering space, opened in 2019, bringing new business in the form of wedding receptions, corporate parties and other special events.
